Enlighten in Hebrew is to give light or to become light.
In this context I mean being able to see things that have been hidden from us. Be willing to accept the Word of God as Truth. (John 17:17)
Telling a lie is fabricating, making up or distorting a story about something that distracts us from the truth or covers (hides) the truth.
To tell the truth is to bring light into darkness unveiling and uprooting all things that we’ve been lied to about.
Darkness is the absence of light. If people aren’t observing the things that are right in front of them then they are in darkness, they are distracted. It is impossible to realize or observe anything without light.
So when people want to tell me the bible isn’t real or anyone in it, when I’ve taken the lamp of Christ that holds the light of God and journeyed with it, having things unveiled to me that I would have never imagined or questioned, without that light, let’s me know I’m following the true light. This is my hope, to release from darkness, the prisoners. To proclaim freedom and spread light/love that I myself have witnessed and received.
Do not feel offended by me but merely encouraged to pick up the lamp of Christ and let the Word Of God be your oil that never runs dry on your journey in this dark place. I’m not looking for an argument, merely spreading truth that has been revealed to me and to study and test for yourselves (1 John 4:1). Let your foundation be love and you will conquer all things that are not.
13 Jesus replied, “Every plant not planted by my heavenly Father will be uprooted, 14 so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.”
Isaiah 40
3 Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting,
“Clear the way through the wilderness
for the Lord!
Make a straight highway through the wasteland
for our God!
4 Fill in the valleys,
and level the mountains and hills.
Straighten the curves,
and smooth out the rough places.
5 Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed,
and all people will see it together.
The Lord has spoken!”[a]
6 A voice said, “Shout!”
I asked, “What should I shout?”
“Shout that people are like the grass.
Their beauty fades as quickly
as the flowers in a field.
7 The grass withers and the flowers fade
beneath the breath of the Lord.
And so it is with people.
8 The grass withers and the flowers fade,
but the word of our God stands forever.”
9 O Zion, messenger of good news,
shout from the mountaintops!
Shout it louder, O Jerusalem.[b]
Shout, and do not be afraid.
Tell the towns of Judah,
“Your God is coming!”
10 Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power.
He will rule with a powerful arm.
See, he brings his reward with him as he comes.
11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd.
He will carry the lambs in his arms,
holding them close to his heart.
He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
AMEN.
