IMMANUEL (I’M-MAN-YOU-EL)
The signature of the life of Jesus is that he is the Son of God that became a man and while being in flesh as a man on the Earth, his father still reigned as God Almighty.
Immanuel has been popularized to mean God Is With Us. But if you were to dig into the creation of the name, it actually means “With Whom is EL (GOD)”. What this really says is we have access to a relationship with the God of all creation because we have Jesus. He is the Immanuel spoken of in Isaiah 7:14. He is the Son that can reveal the Father – Matthew 11:27
“Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and she will call Him Immanuel.
A question I often wondered growing up was, “well why do we call him ‘God’”? If his name is EL and then I always noticed El in the names below along with their meaning:
Daniel: God (EL) is my Judge
Michael: Who is like God (EL)
Ezekiel: My God (EL) Strengthens
Samuel: Name is God (EL)
Immanuel: God (EL) is with us
Before we dig in, let’s break down the name “EL” of Immanuel.
EL is composed of two Hebrew letters, these two letters in Hebrew are the 1st Letter (א) and the 12th Letter (ל) of the Hebrew Alphabet. These two letters have three english vocalizations and transliteration.
אל : OL – AL – EL
The 1st letter א represents the HEAD, and is the root letter for the word ABBA (אב) which means Father in Hebrew. – https://biblehub.com/hebrew/1.htm

(A)lpha – (O)mega – (E)ternal
-Key Note: God is the Head of Jesus Christ the Son.

In every area of life, no matter the struggle:
He is our Deliverer
He is our Salvation
He is our StrongHold
If you are anything like me and have ever really wondered about things like this, let’s dive in, and if you’re nothing like me, I hope you still enjoy it!
What is about to be revealed is one of the greatest prophecies in regards to the name God. and the ownership of the name/title. Every spiritual nation tries to say that their “god” created them. However, somehow their “god” always has a different name than God. So who is this “God”, everyone is trying to claim to be? Where is the origin of this word/name God?
One of the most historical and popular references of the word “God” is used by John the Baptist, the greatest prophet, in our New Testament. In John 1, He declares that In The Beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He (The Word) was with God in the beginning. Jesus Christ was the Word that became flesh and made his dwelling amongst us, and has also been instated as God by his Father, before time even started.
With that said, the word or name “God” has become tremendously popular with the English Language, however, we are not the originators of it. Many nations try to claim the origins of God but can’t explain why they use the name “god”. They kind of just piggyback off the hype and use it as a reference point. “God” seems to be the universal name for thy Creator. So then who is the one who founded this word/name “God”? Would it not be the one who used it first? And also prophesied that everyone would be using it? And that it would be the greatest name of today? That even in Mark 10:18 Jesus himself says there is only one that is good, and that is God?
Let’s look at the evidence by observing the verse below, which was written around the time of 445BC way before the english language had been even conceived or heard of.
“For My name will be great among the nations(gentiles), from the rising to the setting of the sun. In every place, incense and pure offerings will be presented in My name, because My name will be great among the nations(gentiles),” says the LORD of Hosts.
The hebrew word for Great in that verse is GODOL (גדול). Now keep in mind that OL is also a variation of the name EL(אל), as stated above in page 2. But also to go even deeper, the root of GODOL is actually made up of three hebrew letters that can be pronounced as GODEL (GDL)(גדל). It has 3 forms:
GODOL | GODEL | GODAL
All having a variation of the root to be great – Greatness, Great, or Very Great.
HOLY – ALMIGHTY – DELIVERER
LORD GOD ALMIGHTY – In this name
We even begin to see the Trinity revealed-
Lord (Son) – YAHWEH – GOD – יהוה
God (Father) – EL – GOD – אל
Almighty (Holy Spirit) – SHADDAI – GOD – שדי
HOLY– HOLY – HOLY

Psalm 22:3 -Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.
Isn’t that incredible? Our Yahweh, said that his name will be “GREAT” which translates to GOD-EL|GOD-AL|GOD-OL from the original biblical language? Pointing to the unchanging glory of GOD in all three variations. And now as it stands the most widely used name of Our Creator is referred to as “God” across all nations. Even the name GOD ALMIGHTY has the first 5 letters as GODAL!
What I’m talking about is how this name “GREAT” which Yahweh said his name would be in Malachi 1:11, has been pronounced and written in the original biblical hebrew language thousands of years ago, and is now literally the major name for the Creator of the Universe.

For You know Your servant, O Lord GOD. 21-For the sake of Your word and according to Your own heart, You have accomplished this great thing and revealed it to Your servant. 22-How great You are, O Lord GOD! For there is none like You, and there is no God but You, according to everything we have heard with our own ears
What this reveals is the unchanging glory of God, written and spoken about since the beginning of time, that even in changing languages throughout centuries in the world, He is still the pinnacle of the most Majestic names. That even though the outer garment (the title/ the robes) may change, the man in the garment has never changed.
The Seal of Ownership – After reviewing some of the oldest scriptures to date, and finding the written account of Yahweh declaring, thousands of years ago, that His name would be GODEL(Great) amongst the nations(gentiles) and seeing that today the most used name for divine being is God, represents His prophecy fulfilled. This is His Seal. The Seal of GOD – His statement of authority that the word God would be used, and is being used by the nations. There is no other “god” that has this seal or authority, that predates this prophecy.
Literally with the incarnation of the Word of God, Who is Jesus Christ fulfilling the prophecy of Immanuel, We are able to find the link that references the name of “God” (EL) into the Hebrew Old Testament. Which reveals one of the greatest prophecies to ever be told, by Yahweh himself, His name would be GOD. These mysteries have been unraveled by Jesus Christ, my Teacher, my Lord and my Savior. Honestly, if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have pursued Hebrew the way I did. I wouldn’t have known what love was if it had not been for Jesus Christ as my example, through grace and truth.
It is also fitting to note that this word GOD-EL is the word Jesus would have used when he said there would be GREATER work to the one who believes in him. And greater work isn’t only just signs and miracles, but also increasing in the fragrance, the knowledge (the knowing) of Christ, as the Vine is the source of all the goodness that will produce the fruit and the Vine supports the branch. The branch is the bearer of the fruit, and the branch can not bear without the Vine. The greatness of the Vine is shown off in the fruit that the branch bears. We don’t take glory in the fruitless deeds (dry branches) but in our fruitfulness and we boast in that the Vine supported us in bearing fruit! I say fragrance because the richer the fruit is in fruitfulness the more potent or should i say, the “greater” the potentness of the smell and flavor.
While I want to always be able to share the knowledge of God, and show that there is intimacy in knowing someone by their name and titles, there’s also a greater intimacy in knowing who someone is, what someone does, and why someone said something. In this same way, I encourage you that He who started a good work in you, will see it through to completion and I encourage you to tarry in your relationship with Christ always.
